Membership with IDEA
Becoming an IDEA member plugs you into a thriving national network for educational transformation.
We select members that share our values and abide by philosophies and practices that we believe make for a meaningful, democratic education. We connect members to each other to help each other solve problems and share what’s working. Members add credibility to their group by being associated with IDEA and the high-quality schools and organizations that make up the membership network. They also receive a number of benefits, including access to trustworthy, up-to-date information and tools, and priority registration and discounts for IDEA events and services.

- 100 complimentary IDEA brochures, and additional copies at cost. These brochures are helpful for showing your connection to the most innovative, research based, and credible educational organizations that are committed to IDEA’s mission and vision.
- Priority in scheduling visits and training.
- Organizations that commit to three years of membership (which we recommend) will receive a 30% discount for IDEA’s consulting services.
Membership costs:
Membership fees are for one year and are based on group/organizational size.
You tell us the number of students or participants in your school, club, organization, district, or business and we tell you the cost of membership.
1 to 100 participants: $100/year
101 to 300 participants: $200/year
301 to 500 participants: $400/year
501 to 1000 participants: $750/year
1001 to 2000 participants: $1500/year
2001 to 4000 participants: $3000/year
4000+ participants: $5000/year

Salmonberry School
The Salmonberry School is a Washington State-approved private elementary school and an independent preschool serving children ages 3-12. The school offers a holistic learning experience that nurtures the intellectual and imaginative capabilities of each child.
Unitarian Universalist Community Schools Campaign
The Unitarian Universalist Community Schools Campaign (UUCSC) formally launched in February of 2011 as a network of people and organizations committed to founding a system of service oriented boarding high schools grounded in the principles of Unitarian Universalism.
THE POINT
The POINT Community Development Corporation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to youth development and the cultural and economic revitalization of the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx. Through justice-based arts and service learning activities, THE POINT engages young people as active participants in community development.
Spark
Spark is a national nonprofit that provides life-changing apprenticeships to middle school students from disadvantaged communities. Spark's one-on-one workplace apprenticeships empower young people to succeed in their education and beyond.
Puerto Rico Alliance for Alternative Education
The mission of the Alliance is to enrich the quality of education in Puerto Rico by strengthening effective and successful models of alternative education, leading to new and productive life chances for those who have interrupted their education.
PS 28 Warren Prep Academy
Brooklyn's PS 28, the Warren Prep Academy, is a public school that serves grades pre-K to 5 in the New York City Department of Education district. The school community believes that all children should be encouraged to set goals and take ownership of their learning to become lifelong learners.
Patchwork School
The Patchwork School is a multi-age learning community, the heart of which is a democratic school. Through relationships, Patchwork supports parents, teachers, and children in finding meaning, joy & self-direction in their lives.
Opal Public Charter School
The Opal School of the Portland Children's Museum is a private preschool and public charter elementary school grounded in the belief that education opens opportunities for all children to participate in shaping their own lives and to contribute the quality of life around them.
Nuestra Escuela
Nuestra Escuela ("Our School") provides educational services to youth and adults out of school who never completed their studies at higher level. It enrolls 350 students who are typically between ages 13 and 22, and maintains strong connections with the students' families. The vast majority of students have had major academic or life challenges.
Lyons Community School
The Lyons Community School, located in Brooklyn, NY, provides a broad, stimulating experience in the liberal arts, preparing students in grades 6 - 12 for college, healthy adulthood, and life-long learning.
Kennedy School of Sustainability
The Al Kennedy High School, in Cottage Grove, Oregon serves approximately 90 students in grades 9 through 12, and post-secondary level. It has a tradition of outdoor adventure, academic excellence, a dedicated faculty, and a history of educating young people to find their place in the community and the world.
Jefferson County Open School
The Jefferson County Open School features a public pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade environment with inter-aged groupings throughout the school. Students at all levels of the program work closely with their family and advisor to develop highly personalized curriculum.
Fertile Grounds Project
The Fertile Grounds Project provides innovative programming in and outside of schools. The programs allow young people to take control over their own education and build an identity in a world where they can belong.
Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center
Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center is both an independent, full-scholarship, year-round, residential school for high school age students and a learning center for adults. The school is dedicated to developing innovative ways to educate students who have not found success in traditional settings.
Calhoun School
The Calhoun School is a progressive, independent, college preparatory school located in the heart of Manhattan's West Side. Calhoun's mission is to guide and challenge students so that they will emerge as sensitive, healthy, thoughtful, well-prepared citizens of the world community.
