Jackson Schools Bring the Heat: Community Schools Momentum You Can’t Miss

Jun 30, 2025 | IDEA Blog

Dear Friends and Family,

We’re proud to share the third edition of The Community Schools Chronicle, a storytelling project celebrating the people, partnerships, and progress shaping Jackson’s Community Schools.

This issue marks a powerful milestone. Inside, you’ll find stories of national recognition for local leadership, the expansion of whole-child support into elementary schools, essential acts like providing laundry cards, and how the NEA Foundation is supporting three Lanier Jr/Sr High School educators to bring innovation and joy into their classrooms. These efforts help families thrive in meaningful ways.

From Lanier Jr/Sr High School to Walton, Johnson, and Galloway Elementary Schools, this work is being built by many hands. And more and more, it’s beginning to show.

The full Chronicle is included below, and you can also click here to view the PDF version.

To learn more about the Lanier teachers, their projects, and the mini-grants awarded by the NEA Foundation, check out these stories from Jackson Public Schools and The NEA Foundation.
